Red Orchid Theatre's 20th Anniversary

Actor Michael Shannon, co-founder of Red Orchid Theatre, helps the venue celebrate its 20th anniversary during a benefit birthday bash at Metro, 3730 N. Clark, beginning 7:30 p.m. July 29. Shannon, General Zod in "Man of Steel," performs a live concert with his band Corporal. Other featured entertainers include Ben Nichols, the Blind Staggers and Steely Danish. General admission is $15. VIP tickets, which includes admission for two, reserved balcony seating and four drink tickets, are $100. Must be 18 and older with valid ID. http://www.metrochicago.com
